The "Connect to server" window pops up after any modification when VPN is enabled before disconnecting from the internet
Reproduction steps:
1. Enable VPN
2. Disconnect from the internet
3. Open any remote project
4. Create a new C# script in the Assets folder
Expected result: Can continue working without interruption
Actual result: “Connect to server” window pops up asking to sign in
Reproducible with: 1.17.7 (2020.3.47f1), 2.0.4 (2020.3.47f1, 2021.3.24f1, 2022.2.17f1, 2023.1.0b14, 2023.2.0a12)
Could not test with: 2.1.0-preview.3, 2.1.0-preview.5, 2.1.0-preview.6 (2020.3.47f1, 2021.3.24f1, 2022.2.17f1, 2023.1.0b14, 2023.2.0a12) Cannot use Plastic SCM and unable to make Collaborate work.
Reproducible on: Windows 10
Notes:
After creating a couple of new C# scripts, Editor might get stuck on “Reload Script Assemblies“ or “Reloading Domain”
Sometimes the “Connect to server” window doesn’t appear instantly after compilation but does appear after a minute
Workaround - go to Edit > Project Settings > Version Control > Unity Version Control Settings and disable Unity VCS
