Player build freezes after calling Application.Quit() when the scripting backend is set to IL2CPP
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached “IN-128412_ApplicationQuit” project
2. Navigate to File → Build Profiles → Windows-Dev and build and run the Player
3. In the main menu click on the “Start Mission” button and then click on the “Play” button
4. Press the escape button on your keyboard and click on the “Quit to Menu” button
5. In the main menu, click on the “Quit” button
6. Observe the Player window
Actual result: The Player build freezes (on Windows) or crashes (on macOS)
Expected result: The Player build closes with no issues
Reproducible with: 6000.0.67f1, 6000.3.8f1
Could not test with: 2023.1.0a1, 6000.0.0b11, 6000.0.23f1, 6000.4.0b8, 6000.5.0a6 (The project broke when upgrading/downgrading)
Reproducible on: Windows 11, macOS (unknown OS reported by user)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Note: The Player build closes with no issue when the Scripting Backend is set to Mono
