672202
Regression
No
Objects lit by light probes appear brighter than static objects with same material in gamma mode
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached project "case_672202"
2. Open Scene2 and wait for the the lighting to be built
3. Notice that one cube is significantly brighter, it is using light probes
4. The other cube is darker it is static
5. The only difference between these cubes is that one is static and the other one is not, they use the same material.
I believe that both cubes should be lit similarly.

I highly suspect that is could be related to this: https://fogbugz.unity3d.com/default.asp?728903_t2c6vmji917cd7ad
No self shadow = object looking brighter.

Since the status has changed on this, is it fixed in a future 5.2 patch release or do i have to wait till 5.3 and still try and work around the issue?

@nxtboyIII still very much a problem in 5.2, only way to avoid it is to use the linear rendering mode, which is not a option for most work on mobile.

Is it fixed since 5.2?

Since 5.2 there seems to be a big push for Lightning should i expect this to be resolved when that comes out on the 8th? This is a pretty huge problem and i rather not having to scale it down on game start like i am currently doing.

Thanks for the response!
I hope you understand how important it is to have news on how this is going. It's causing extreme "pain" (when not delays) to the user workflow. Don't want to imagine the amount of time wasted on rearranging a probe group just to make dynamic objects look "not so bad"...

Hi! Here is the status on this issue: This is the number one important bug to fix for us in the lighting team, so trust us when we say we are working on it.
The reason you don't see it on the roadmap is that it is a regression and doesn't require any new feature work. It 'just' requires bugfixing and refactoring of existing code.
The plan is to fix the L1 realtime and baked probes so they look the same in linear/gamma mode and therefore your dynamic probelit objects will have the same intensity as in Unity 4.6.
We have requested support for L2 probes being added to Enlighten, we will integrate that and quality should be fully on par once that is ready.
