Regression
No
Objects lit by light probes appear brighter than static objects with same material in gamma mode
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached project "case_672202"
2. Open Scene2 and wait for the the lighting to be built
3. Notice that one cube is significantly brighter, it is using light probes
4. The other cube is darker it is static
5. The only difference between these cubes is that one is static and the other one is not, they use the same material.
I believe that both cubes should be lit similarly.

This issue is marked as fixed but it's actually not. Not entirely, at least. Is there another issue for the baked GI issue? If not, I think you should re-open this one, Unity guys...

Hi Unity team, is there a way to work around this issue? I've been skipping Unity 5 because of this bug. Thanks.

Issue has not been fixed still, happening in Linear and Gamma space and even worse thing is that some light probes within the group are partially pitch black. (no they are not culling / intersecting static meshes)

I agree with the comment by Nickpappas. We need this to work with baked light probes, or we can't use the Unity engine. This is a fundamental piece of game design that is just unavailable to us for many months now. I am not sure why this has not been a top priority. Again, it needs to work with BAKED light probes.

As of Unity 5.3.0b5 This is only fixed for probe lit objects in realtime GI mode. Which is not what most of us need. We need BAKED GI probes to also work too. Realtime GI is still too expensive to use for most games. So the priority needs to shifted to the baked system please. If these all Lighting issues persist for multiple versions of Unity then companies will have no choice but to abandon this engine. Patience is wearing very thin.

I am happy to announce that the fix just went into 5.3 beta 2 today :-) It was a lot of work to fix it and I am not yet sure if it will be possible to backport it to 5.2 because of the massive changes.
