sharedassets0.assets' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again error is thrown when running a build
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project
2. Build the player for your favourite platform (make sure it's development player)
3. Observe the error in Output:
<gamepath>/Data/sharedassets0.assets' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!
Expected result: Error should not be thrown
Actual result: Unity throws the error
Reproduced with: 5.6.4p1, 2017.1.2p2, 2017.3.0b7, 2018.1.0a2

broke my brain on this for a few days. Tried everything mentioned in different forums.
Do yourself a favor and just update to a newer version of Unity. That's all I did to fix it...

I also had this issue. For me it was a corrupted Prefab. I recommend using version control software like Github, backing up your project, and then you can delete large swaths of your project (for example, I did one where I deleted scripts, that didn't work, but then restored to the older version, deleted all prefabs, and the crash stopped. Once you find the general cause, you can use Github to restore to an earlier time, and help to try and narrow down which folder(if not multiple) where the corruption is originating) From there I just had to rebuild prefabs.... apparently meshes can also be corrupt. Hope this helps!
