Very slow Client start-up when retrieving remote configuration
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the Unity Hub
Expected results: The Unity Hub opens
Actual results: The Unity Hub fails to open
Reproducible with: 3.6.0
Reproducible on: Windows 10 (reported by the user)
Notes:
- Not reproduced by CQA
- Error in the Unity Hub logs: “ \{"timestamp":"2023-10-27T19:40:41.813Z","level":"info","moduleName":"LicensingSdkService","message":"[ 'Process exited with code null' ]"} \{"timestamp":"2023-10-27T19:41:41.696Z","level":"error","moduleName":"LicensingSdkService","message":"[ 'Failed to launch licensing client: Error: Timeout, pid: 8728' ]"}
WORKAROUND:
* Go to the Licensing Client executable directory:
** Windows: "C:\Program Files\Unity Hub\UnityLicensingClient_V1"
** MacOS: "/Applications/Unity Hub.app/Contents/Frameworks/UnityLicensingClient_V1.app/Contents/MacOS"
** Linux: "/opt/unityhub/UnityLicensingClient_V1"
* Pre-launch Unity.Licensing.Client
* Then run Unity Hub
