[Ubuntu 24] Scene view locks up and is rendered in grey after changing the Editor layout
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new URP 3D template project
2. Switch between Default and 4 Split Layouts
3. Observe the Scene view
Actual results: After multiple switches, the Scene view is rendered darker and eventually in solid Grey. Trying to switch between Scene and Game view is unresponsive
Expected results: Scene view remains functional after switching the Layout
Reproducible with versions: 2023.2.20f1, 6000.0.7f1
Can’t test with versions: 2021.3.39f1, 2022.3.34f1 (Does not support Ubuntu 24)
Reproducible on (OS): Ubuntu 24
Not reproducible on (OS): Ubuntu 20, Ubuntu 22, macOS 14.5
Workaround - Resizing any of the Editor windows after the Scene view breaks
Notes:
- Inconsistent. Sometimes the issue occurs on the first try but it might need multiple switches on other test runs
- Does not occur when Vulkan is used. Layout switching on Vulkan is significantly slower, however.

Resolution Note:
Unfortunately, this issue is not reproducible.
Unity 6000.0.7f1 was tested on Ubuntu 23.10 and worked fine. After upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04, there was a crash when running Unity, but it did not occur after updating the Ubuntu driver.
This may be due to the usage environment and the instability of Ubuntu 24.04.
We recommend using the following alternatives:
1. Update to the latest Ubuntu drivers
2. Use Vulkan API in Unity
3. Downgrade to Ubuntu 23.10
