Regression

No

Overlay Menu selected overlays are not saved when switching between saved Presets

-

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new Unity project using a 3D Universal Template
  2. In the Scene view, drag and dock the Overlay Menu so that it becomes expanded with checkmarks
  3. Click on the "Default" dropdown
  4. Select "Save Preset..."
  5. Create at least two Presets (e.g. "Test1" and "Test2")
  6. Switch to "Test2" and enable a few additional overlays in it
  7. Switch to "Test1"
  8. Switch back to "Test2" Preset

Actual results: Changes made in the 6th step are reverted

Expected results: Overlays enabled in the 6th step should remain enabled

Reproducible with versions:  2023.1.0a1, 6000.0.64f1, 6000.3.0f1, 6000.4.0b1, 6000.5.0a3

Tested on (OS): Windows 11

{}Notes:{}{}{}

  • This could be intended; however, it is quite unintuitive as there is no way to edit an existing Preset, only to overwrite it
  • Additionally, switching from a saved preset or just clicking on the dropdown and selecting Default, always resets the current Overlay Menu setup and reverts all changes made to Overlays
  • "Ctrl+S" has no effect either
  1. Resolution Note:

Closing as feature request but we'll investigate if the workflow can be improved.
