Lighting generation freezes the Editor during the Global Illumination Post Processing stage when baking lighting on certain systems
How to reproduce:
1. Open the “Lightest” project
2. Open the “SampleScene“
3. Open the Lighting window (Window → Rendering → Lighting)
4. Click on the Generate Lighting button
5. Observe the “Hold on” window appears at the Global Illumination Post Processing stage
Expected result: Lightmap data is generated successfully and quickly, no “Hold on” window appears
Actual result: Lightmap data generation takes too long or freezes the Editor
Reproducible in: 6000.0.23f1
Reproducible on: Windows 10
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- The issue was not tested by CQA
- The issue is known to be reproducible on machines with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 4080 and 4090
- If canceling the Lighting generation at the Post Processing stage the Editor freezes with GI.Tick progress bar
