In Hub web browser doesn't open and no error is displayed when clicking "Sign in" button if no default web browser app is set

Steps to reproduce:
1. Uninstall the default web browser app
2. Open Hub
3. Press the "Sign in" button

Expected result: web browser doesn't open and an error message indicating the issue is displayed
Actual result: web browser doesn't open and no error message indicating the issue is displayed

Reproducible with: 3.1.2

Notes:
- Wasn't able to reproduce this issue myself, as I was prompted to select a web browser app when clicking "Sign in", however, for a lot of users, no such prompt appears
- Setting a default web browser app in OS settings resolves this issue
- Issue also reproduces when pressing the "Create account" button
- Noticed this issue occurring only for Windows and macOS users
- No error message is displayed in the Hub
- Error message displayed in "info-log.json": "Unhandled promise rejection, reason: No application available to open url"
