Issue ID
UUM-114482
Regression
Yes
Certain textures are not loaded when using the "Load texture data on demand" feature
How to reproduce:
1. Open the “IN-109786.zip” project
2. Open the “Main” scene
3. Observe Scene View and Console window
Expected result: No errors are logged and models retain their original color
Actual result: Models appear heavily shaded (VULKAN ONLY) and missing texture errors are logged in the console
Reproducible in: 6000.2.0a9, 6000.2.0f1, 6000.3.0a4
Not reproducible in: 6000.0.55f1, 6000.2.0a8
Reproducible on: Windows 11
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Notes:
- Different errors appear when using Vulkan and DirectX 12
- Vulkan error: {{Compute dispatch: missing texture ID 109}}
- With DX12, error is constantly spammed in the console: {{d3d12: Attempting to bind a NULL or empty texture. Perhaps the texture contains no image data or has an invalid size.}}
- Issue may not reproduce on the first launch of the Editor. In that case the Editor should be closed and relaunched
- Issue is not reproducible on Windows Standalone Player

Resolution Note (fix version 6000.4.0a1):
Performance improvements resulted in async texture uploads completing before scheduled texture unload calls during texture reload (such as for colorspace switches). This has been fixed so reloading waits until unloads are complete first.
