Upgrading project to 2018.1 or newer strips almost all materials from gameObjects and replaces them with "No Name" materials
To reproduce:
1. Download attached project "WorkflowTestbed.zip" and open in Unity
2. Open "main" scene
3. Observe "Piston", "CockpitFrame", "CockpitGlass" and "Wall" gameObjects
Expected results: All 4 gameObjects will have their original materials
Actual results: "CockpitFrame", "CockpitGlass" and "Wall" gameObjects original materials removed and replaced with a "No Name" materials.
Notes:
- This issue appears both on Windows and OSX
- The original materials still exist but are just no longer assigned to the model
- New "No Name" materials have been created for each object and assigned to each object
- For some reason, "Piston" gameObject is absolutely fine and textured as expected
Reproduced on Unity 2018.1.0a1, 2018.1.0f2, 2018.2.0b3 and 2018.3.0a1
Not Reproduced on Unity 2017.2.3f1, 2017.3.2f1 and 2017.4.2f2
Regression on Unity 2018.1.0a1
