There is no way to hide/show uGUI objects via CanvasRenderer
To reproduce:
1. Create a uGUI button
2. Try to disable its rendering - you'd have to disable each individual component like text, image etc
Explanation:
If you wish to disable a button there are two things you can do. Either disable the gameobject or add a canvas group to the button and turn the alpha to 0.
