Sprites references are not set back when deleting and re-creating Visual Files that are sliced
Reproduction steps:
1. Open the attached project "1383167.zip"
2. Open Assets > Scenes > SampleScene
3. Save Assets > "vents" asset to your device
4. Delete Assets > "vents"
5. Import duplicate "vents" image to the Assets folder
6. Select Assets > "vents"
7. In the Inspector change Sprite mode to Multiple
8. Open Window > 2D > Sprite Editor and slice "vents"
9. Observe results in Scene View
Expected result: Sprite references are set back
Actual result: Sprite references are missing
Reproduced with: 2021.2.0a7, 2021.2.9f1, 2022.1.0b5, 2022.2.0a3
Not reproduced with: 2019.4.35f1, 2020.3.27f1, 2021.2.0a6

Resolution Note:
Once you delete an asset inside Unity, Unity stops tracking that asset and will not promise to keep any references or settings for that asset. If an asset is later added with the same name, it should be considered a coincidence that any references remains from a previously deleted asset.
Our suggested approach is that you replace an image file, rather than deleting and adding it again, to make sure all settings and references are kept intact inside Unity.
