[SpeedTree] SPM not imported after saving it directly to project folder
WON'T FIX: Imports correctly after a wait
To Reproduce:
1. Open any Unity project.
2. Save any SPM file to Assets folder.
3. Observe that the spm file is not imported when you switch back to editor window, and this error is thrown:
"SpeedTree file does not contain run-time data. Be sure to re-save it using the Unity-specific version of the SpeedTree Modeler"
4. Spm is imported correctly after 20-30 seconds or after switching window and the error msg disapears.

I had this issue too and the SpeedTree people helped me resolve it. Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) located here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328
This enabled the trees modeled in the SpeedTree modeler to be fully imported into Unity 5 with no errors.
