Simulation hangs on Arm macs with Silicon editor build
Synopsis
The Silicon Mac version of Unity 2021.3 hangs upon entering XR Simulation mode.
Workaround
This bug does not occur using the Intel Mac version of Unity 2021.3.
How to See the Bug
- Install Silicon Mac version of Unity 2021.3 on an M1 Mac.
- Clone AR Foundation Samples repo.
- Update package manifest to ARF 5.0.0-pre.12.
- Open the Samples project, then open the SimpleAR scene.
- Enable XR Simulation in XR Plug in Management.
- Click the Play button; the Editor hangs.
Additional Info
This hang does not occur using a minimal AR scene (ARSession and XROrigin camera rig).
This is a duplicate of AR-Foundation-Remote-support 13 and arfoundation-samples 994.
