Significant performance degradation when using Water System simulation
How to reproduce:
1. Open the “bug-repo-hdrp-anim” project
2. Open the “Island_anim” scene
3. Open the GameView
4. Take note of the CPU usage in the Statistics
5. Observe the Water System
Expected result: Water simulation is smooth, Editor is usable and performance is consistent
Actual result: Water simulation is slow, the Editor is difficult to use, and CPU usage is inconsistent
Reproducible in: 6000.0.17f1
Could not test with: 2021.3.43f1, 2022.3.44f1 (Numerous compilation errors)
Reproducible on: Windows 10, Windows 11 (user’s)
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- Performance starts to be consistent when entering and exiting the PlayMode a couple of times, but it quickly returns back to high CPU usage
