Having the same issue on 2023.2.11f1.
My soundcard is a Focusrite Clarett 2pre thunderbolt with 4 outputs, working on macos.
The two rear channels stay desperately silent, while the game configuration suppose sounds to be played by them : when the audio source is behind the audio listener it becomes silent.
Can someone at the Unity team hel for that ?

This is still happening a year later in 5.6.1f1. 5.1 and 7.1 work fine, but non-theatrical surround formats like quad (and octaphonic for that matter) are popular in gallery and university settings. It would be great if this could be fixed.
