Regression

No

Prefab Override context menu does not appear when changing attributes on a Terrain Component

-

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached “IN-92263.zip” project
2. Open the “SampleScene”
3. In the Project Hierarchy select the “Terrain” GameObject and open it in the Inspector Window
4. Find the “Terrain” Component
5. Open the “Terrain Settings” tool
6. Change any attribute
7. Observe the results on the changed attribute

Expected result: The attribute name is turned to bold and pressing “Right-Click” opens a “Prefab Override” context menu
Actual result: The attribute stays the same as it would on a non-prefab object and “Right-Click” does not open the “Prefab Override” context menu

Reproducible in: 2021.3.47f1, 2022.3.55f1, 6000.0.33f1, 6000.1.0b2

Reproducible on: Windows 11, macOS (Silicon)
Not reproducible on: No other environment tested

  1. Resolution Note:

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Unfortunately, after careful consideration, we will not be addressing your issue at this time, as we are currently committed to resolving other higher-priority issues.
We acknowledge that the current Terrain system has a number of limitations, so we are currently investing in a large amount of discovery work to determine exactly what is needed most and how we can bring it to you at the quality level you have come to expect and address the most pervasive pain points in the most effective and efficient manner. However, we know each case is different, so please do continue to log any issues you find, and provide general feedback on our roadmap page to help us prioritize.
