Regression
Yes
Player crashes upon launch when a folder is deleted as a prebuild step
How to reproduce:
- Extract the “SM.zip“ and “Firebase - safe (do not delete).zip“ archives
- In the root folder of “SM.zip”, edit the “build-exe.bat“ to use the correct paths based on their location on your device
- Replace the “Assets/Firebase“ folder with the “Firebase - safe (do not delete)” extracted folder
- Rename “Firebase - safe (do not delete)“ to “Firebase”
- Execute the “build-exe.bat” batch file
- Run the built program “SM.exe“
Actual result: The application crashes immediately after starting
Expected result: The application starts up and continues functioning
Reproducible in: 6000.0.71f1
Could not test in: 2022.3.74f1, 6000.3.11f1, 6000.4.1f1, 6000.5.0b1, 6000.6.0a1 (errors and incompatibilities when upgrading/downgrading the project)
Reproduced on: Windows 11 Pro (25H2)
Not reproduced on: No other environment tested
Notes:
- The issue does not reproduce if the “Assets/Firebase“ folder is deleted
- If the “Firebase” folder is not replaced after the initial build, all subsequent builds will work fine
- After step 4, if the Player is built through the Editor, the results are the same
- Reproduces only when the “Firebase“ folder is deleted (Deleting other folders does not reproduce the issue)
