Regression
Yes
Package compute shaders don't compile automatically when upgrading a project from 2020.2 to 2021.1
Repro steps:
1. Download the repro project: https://drive.google.com/file/d/169UcveLRJcUNmkBe6QknocBtyY5NBpx5/view?usp=sharing
2. Open the project in 2021.1.0a6 or later
3. Open the TestScene scene
4. Observe the console errors
VFXCopyBuffer.compute: Kernel at index (2) is invalid
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent (int,intptr,bool&)
VFXFillIndirectArgs.compute: Kernel at index (0) is invalid
Sort.compute: Kernel at index (0) is invalid
UnityEngine.GUIUtility:ProcessEvent (int,intptr,bool&)
Notes:
- Reimporting the shaders fixes the issue
- Not package-specific: happens with lots of package compute shaders (VFX, HDRP)
