Postponed means that the issue was either a feature request or something that requires major refactoring on our side. Since that makes the issue not actionable in the close future we choose to close it as Postponed and add it on our internal roadmaps and technical debt pages instead.

Meta file of the folder is not updated when the folder becomes hidden in the file system
How to reproduce:
1. Open user attached project "DirectoryMonitoringBug.zip"
2. Select "Bug Repro" and click "Hide Folder"
Expected result: Project window refreshes and "Scenes" folder is hidden in the Project Window
Actual result: "Scenes" folder becomes missing and a warning is thrown in the Console
Reproducible with - 2019.4.15f1, 2020.1.17f1, 2020.2.0b14, 2021.1.0a7
Could not test - 2018.4 (Editor errors)
Warning in the Console window:
A meta data file (.meta) exists but its folder 'Assets/Scenes' can't be found, and has been created. Empty directories cannot be stored in version control, so it's assumed that the meta data file is for an empty directory in version control. When moving or deleting folders outside of Unity, please ensure that the corresponding .meta file is moved or deleted along with it.
