Sprite changes are not being recorded when using Legacy Animations
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project "1224446.zip"
2. Open the "Test" Scene
3. In the Hierarchy window select the "Cube" GameObject
4. In the Animation window click Play
Expected result: Sprite is being swapped
Actual result: Sprite is not being swapped
Reproducible with: 2018.4.23f1, 2019.3.15f1, 2020.1.0b11, 2020.2.0a13
