Last selected asset before docking Animation window gets selected when a domain reload occurs
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project "IN-126889”
2. Open the “SampleScene”
3. Enter Play Mode
4. Exit Play Mode
5. Observe the Project window
Actual result: Last selected asset before docking Animation window gets selected
Expected result: No assets get selected
Reproducible with: 6000.3.0a1, 6000.3.3f1, 6000.4.0b3, 6000.5.0a4
Not reproducible with: 6000.0.64f1, 6000.2.0b2 (d4c40f50eb81), 6000.2.15f1
Reproducible on: Windows 11, macOS 26.1 (by user)
Not reproducible on: No other environments tested
Workaround: Closing or focusing on the Animation window
Notes:
- Reapplying an affected layout also makes the issue occur
- Sometimes switching Editor versions changes the asset that gets selected

Also confirmed, closing the Animation window fixed it for me as well. I also noticed that looking in the Undo history it adds some mysterious selection steps which it then undoes, it seems.

Happening to me as well. I noticed that for the unity version I tested (6000.3.4f1) the selected asset was the "DebugDisplayStats.cs" script from Scriptable Render Pipelines internal package.

Extremely annoying! Thankfully I now know that I can just close Animation tab. Previously I had to reset all layout!
