Regression
Yes
Folders with numbers and dots cannot be created when using AssetDatabase.CreateFolder
How to reproduce:
1. Open the attached project ("DotInFolderBug.zip")
2. Choose "Bug/Create Folder With Dot In Name" in the menu bar
Expected result: A folder named "9.1.0" is created
Actual result: "9. is not a valid directory name. Please make sure there are no unallowed characters in the name." and "Failed to create folder" errors are thrown
Reproducible with: 2022.1.0a12, 2022.1.8f1, 2022.2.0a18, 2023.1.0a2
Not reproducible with: 2020.3.36f1, 2021.3.5f1, 2022.1.0a11
Reproducible on:
macOS 12.1 (Intel)
Note:
- It is also an issue when creating Folders manually (Create -> Folder). E.g. if you create a Folder named "1.9.2", it is formatted to "1_".
