No
"Find References In Scene" link to non existing references
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open User-attached project
2. Select Canvas > Layout Game Object
3. Select "Find references in the Scene " from the context menu of the Vertical Layout Group component
4. See AppStarter is shown in Hierarchy window
5. Select "AppStarter" in the Hierarchy window and inspect the Inspector window
Expected: there is a link to the Vertical Layout Group component
Actual: there are no links to the Vertical Layout Group component (only to the Layout's GameObject itself)
Reproduced in: 2018.4.8f1, 2019.2.4f1, 2019.3.0b1, 2020.1.0a2
Not reproduced in: 2017.4.31f1 (Can't find references in Scene)

Resolution Note:
This is intended behavior as the property "Preloader Root" in AppStarter.cs is of type GameObject and not VerticalLayoutGroup.
If you change the property in AppStarter.cs to type "VerticalLayoutGroup" and fix the compile error it works as you hope for.
