Camera rotation jerks in the High Definition RP template when frame rate fluctuates in Play Mode
Reproduction steps:
1. Create a project using the High Definition RP template
2. Press Play
3. Observe the camera rotation when moving the mouse
Expected result: No noticeable camera rotation jerks, consistent mouse sensitivity
Actual result: Mouse sensitivity is frame rate dependant, thus the camera rotation jerks
Reproducible with: 2020.3.11f1, 2021.1.10f1, 2021.2.0a19
Not reproducible with: 2018.4.35f1, 2019.4.28f1 (different High Definition RP templates)
Note:
- A fix is to not multiply mouse input with delta time in Assets > SampleSceneAssets > Scripts > LookWithMouse.cs as the mouse input is already a delta value, it's the amount the mouse has moved this frame
- Without multiplication by delta time, mouse sensitivity acts as it should (like a mouse input scalar) and should be reduced from the current high default value of 100 to 2, for example
