Compilation errors during asset bundling changes active build target

How to reproduce:
1. Open the "New Unity Project 1.zip" project
2. Press Assets>Build AssetBundles
3. Check the console to confirm the compilation / assetbundle build failure
4. Check the active build platform

Actual result: The Build Target is changed to Windows Standalone after building asset bundle.

Reproducible with: 2018.2.0a6, 2018.1.0f1, 2017.4.1f1, 2017.3.2f1, 2017.2.2p3.

Notes:
The Editor requires Metro support to reproduce this issue.
Couldn't test 2017.1, because of compiler errors.
GazeGestureManager.cs is causing the API updater dialog when trying to build Asset Bundle.

  1. Resolution Note:

    User needs to switch to have correct state before building.
