@MAXBOT and @CLPPK could you submit bug reports with your project? Maybe it's something completely different?

Issue is still not resolved in the following Unity versions:
Unity 2017.1.2f1, Unity 2017.2.0f3, Unity 2017.3.0f3Disabling Multithreaded Rendering made the stuttering go away, but the video playback runs with half the fps causing a screen tearing like effect. This is unusable for 360 VR app.

This issue is marked fixed, and yet, yesterday, using the newest Unity 2017.2f3, it clearly isn't fixed. What's going on guys?
The main problem i see here, VideoPlayer.prepare() is being run on the main thread. Yikes. Even google suggests not doing so.
What's going on??

Really pleased this is marked as "Fixed in a future release" but when is this fix likely to be released or has it already been released? I couldn't find mention of it). Cheers

When deploying an Android app with cardboard enabled under XR settings and playing it on a device, a warning dialog comes up if you don't have Google VR Services installed. After this window pops up, the Video Player starts to noticeably stutter.
Exiting to home screen and resuming the app fixes the issue, and the Video Player plays smoothly. However, you can replicate the bug by clicking on the gear icon on the upper right, which causes another window to pop up prompting you to install the cardboard app. Everytime this window pops up, the video player stutters more and more (after 2/3 times, it's unwatchable).
Disabling Multithreaded Rendering did not make a difference for me.

Disabling "Multithreaded rendering" solved our video freezing problem. (Samsung Galaxy Tab 4)

Our developer has identified the issue is caused by Multithreaded Rendering option enabled. Disabling it may be a workaround for you until we get a proper fix.
