Resolution Note (1.19.X):
This issue is with the use of async/await. Addressables API does not make use of c# tpl, and should not be used that way.
If needed to be used, Addressables provides a Task for use with tpl. Which can be obtained from the AsyncOperationHandles returned from the Addressables API. When using this, the issue with the continuation of the async method calling await on Addressables API works as expected.
